Prevention Tips for Eczema

Prevention
These tips may help stop bouts of dermatitis (flares) and minimize the drying effects of bathing:
Moisturize your skin at least twice every day. Lotions, ointments and creams seal in moisture. Choose a product or products which work for you. Using petroleum jelly on your infant's skin might help prevent development of atopic dermatitis. See how to cure eczema permanently?

Attempt to identify and avoid triggers that aggravate the problem. Things that can worsen skin reaction include pollen, stress, obesity, soaps, detergents, dust and sweat. Lower your exposure to your triggers.
Babies and children may experience flares from ingesting certain foods, including eggs, milk, soy and wheat. Talk with your child's doctor about identifying food allergies.
Take shorter baths or showers. Restrict your baths and showers. And use hot, rather than hot, water.
Have a bleach bath. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends contemplating a bleach bath to help prevent flares and cure eczema. A bath that is diluted-bleach decreases bacteria on the skin and infections. Insert 1/2 cup (118 milliliters) of household bleach, not concentrated bleach into a 40-gallon (151-liter) bathtub filled with warm water. Measures are for a U.S.-standard-sized bathtub full of the overflow drainage holes.
Soak in the neck down or simply the affected areas of skin for approximately ten minutes. Don't submerge your head. Have no longer than twice each week to a bleach bath.
Use only gentle soaps. Pick mild soaps. Antibacterial soaps and soaps may eliminate and dry skin.
Dry yourself carefully. After bathing pat skin dry using a towel and apply moisturizer while your skin is still moist. For more info visit Exzma Skincare.
